The Jaw-Dropping Mansion From Beyoncé’s “Black Is King” Is On Sale For $125M
Beyoncé’s recently released visual album “Black Is King” is brimming with incredible imagery, but one part in particular has fans particularly captivated: the sequence showing Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z lounging around what looks like a truly gorgeous, Spanish-style mansion. It turns out the stunning Beverly Hills home is actually on the market, but at $125 million, it’s proving a bit tough to find the right buyer.
The Beverly House was itself chock full of history long before Queen Bey stepped foot there, as it was once owned by publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst. It’s also the plush pad where John F. Kennedy and Jackie Onassis honeymooned in 1953, later serving as the West Coast presidential headquarters during Kennedy’s election, according to Architectural Digest.
If the H-shaped home looks familiar to you, that’s because “Black Is King” isn’t the first time this Mediterranean manse has been used on film. It was prominently featured in “The Godfather,” starring Marlon Brando, and “The Bodyguard,” starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. But the home got a truly stylish makeover to star in Bey’s new Disney+ musical film, which serves as a visual counterpart to her album, “The Lion King: The Gift,” which itself serves as a sonic counterpart to the 2019 live-action remake of the animated classic—with Beyoncé lending her vocal talents to star as the voice of Nala.
With 18 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, and 50,000 square feet situated on 3.5 acres in Beverly Hills, space certainly isn’t an issue here. With a slew luxe features including a spa, a nearly Olympic-size heated pool, a lighted tennis court, lushly manicured gardens, a coved ballroom, a billiard room, a 2-story wood paneled library, a tiled formal dining room, and an 800-foot driveway, the home can comfortably host more than 1,000 guests, making it an ideal spot for the potential buyer who has plenty of friends.
But the house, built in 1927, has been on the market for years, first up for sale for $195 million back in 2016, according to the Los Angeles Times. It was relisted for $135 million back in 2018, and is now up for grabs at a $10 million price cut with listing agents Santiago Arana and Mauricio Umansky of The Agency.
Plenty of Beyoncé’s family make cameos at the house in “Black Is King,” including her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, mom Tina Knowles-Lawson, and longtime pal and Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland. And honestly, given that Bey and Jay look right at home in this Old Hollywood abode, it really makes perfect sense if they make a bid for it. Mull it over, Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
