20 best IKEA hacks on Instagram 2019
It’s been a while since I last did a round up of my favourite IKEA hacks on Instagram. And since then, the number of IKEA hacks on IG has grown leaps and bounds.
When I did a search, I found over 280,000 posts on #ikeahacks!
So, before the year ends, let’s dive in and check out some of the best IKEA hacks on Instagram.

#1 MALM reading nook
A cosy reading nook from 2 MALM dressers (though the caption mentions HEMNES), framed. It even has space behind the cabinets for storage.

#3 Breakfast bar with the FINNVARD trestle
Want a breakfast counter? This is probably the easiest way to set one up. A FINNVARD trestle and butcher block anchored to the wall. And that’s it!

#4 Sewing room cutting table
Inspired by this sewing table hack, Johanna made her own version from 3 KALLAX units. The table provides lots of storage and a large surface for cutting. Perfect!

#5 The blue “yoga mat” bag
The FRAKTA trimmed to fit a rolled up yoga mat and protect it from the rain.
#6 TROFAST LEGO table
Always love a good IKEA-LEGO hack. This LEGO station is made from 2 TROFAST units back to back.

#8 HOVET industrial mirror
Industrial mirrors have pretty much exploded on my Instagram feed. Most are pretty expensive. Make one from the large HOVET mirror and save some $$.
#9 Dog bowls using the IVAR
Isn’t this cute? Food and water bowls for your dog using short IVAR posts and a shelf. Cut holes in the shelf to fit your dog bowls.
#10 Hot air balloon with REGOLIT
Add a little whimsy to your kids’ room. A REGOLIT lamp shade, small basket and stick on dots completes this hot air balloon.

#11 A classy mirror cube
This looks a million bucks but it’s cheaper than you think. You’ll need 2 packs of IKEA LOTS mirrors, 24 angle brackets, masking tape and an adhesive that fixes to both glass and metal. Join the mirrors together, et voilà!
View this post on Instagram[???????? ????] ________________________________________ #spegelkub #ikeahack #ikeahacks #ikeahacksdiy #diyikeahack #ikealots #ikealotsmirror #mitthem #inredning #interiordesign #interiorstyling #inredningsinspo #inredningsinspiration #inredningsdetaljer #interior #interior2you #interior_deluxe #interior_and_living #interiordecor #heminredning #heminspiration #heminredningsinspo #interior4inspo #inspotoyourhome #heminredningsdetaljer #homedetails #mynordicroom #nordichomes

#12 KURA playhouse
A lovely KURA playhouse. Click the arrows to see how happy she is to call this her big girl bed.
View this post on InstagramJune’s #biggirlbed has been a massive hit!!! It was completely #inspiredby @basephine_deco
I also found the time to hang shelves and put up some decorations #
I still need to make curtains and a couple #nosewpillows for under the bed and hang picture rails but so far June & I both love it

#13 Cigar Box Guitar
When I see absolutely “far out” hacks like this, it gets me very excited. It also reminds me of this one. I hope the BRONSSOPP guitar sounds good.

#14 Toy box crate with seat
What an idea! A toy box with storage and seating. So useful, and I don’t mean just for kids. I can think of a number of ways I can use this handy storage crate ottoman at home.

#15 Mobile phone loop
No instructions found. But it seems pretty straightforward. Snip the handle off the FRAKTA blue bag and glue the ends to inside of a phone case. Done!
#16 Release the KROKEN
If plain clear glass is boring, jazz up the KROKEN with art. These personalised water bottles make great gifts too.
#17 FROSTA chair
So simple but make a difference. Just take one more FROSTA seat and leg and attach the short curved section under the seat. Sadly, the FROSTA seems to be discontinued, which is a major bummer. It is definitely Number 1 on my “IKEA, Please Bring Back List“.

#18 LEGO brick cabinet
These LEGO brick cabinets are adorable. Cilla made them from EKET cubes and round discs. Catch her Stories at @designbycilla for the tutorial.
#19 Prehistoric DUKTIG
This Jurassic theme DUKTIG play kitchen is so rawrsome. Be sure to check out the entire room @sweet_home_of_mine. And this post for more DUKTIG hack inspo.

#20 Rustic coffee table
Probably the simplest hack ever. The SNIDAD basket (handles removed) topped with a round wood table and there you have it! A coffee table for your patio.

SWIPE ACROSS for more photos!! One of the hardest things to find in most stores is a natural coffee table. So again I got to thinking and looked around my house for some inspo!! I really do have way too many baskets and thought about a past hack of mine where I turned a laundry hamper upside down to make a side table. So I turned the Ikea Basket I had upside down but the handles were in the way! I loved the look of it and it was a decent size for a small coffee table – so off went the handles! Also sitting in the storage room was the $19 @kmartaus oak look Side Table which I hadn’t used yet! The round top matched the colouring of the basket beautifully so I popped it on top!! Shazam- Instant Coffee Table – and I needed something to go with my @kmartaus Timber Chairs- perfect!! So if you have the @kmartaus timber chairs and you want a little table to match – here’s one for you!!
