Home is where the coffee table is. And, for a lot of people, home is also the state that they grew up in. Home goods retail company Uncommon Goods has combined both of these aspects with rustic side tables shaped like all unique 50 states in the U.S., from California to Texas to Hawaii. The result is a stunning piece of home decor that can also be deeply personal and nostalgic.

Crafted from reclaimed popular wood, each State Side Table also comes with a stamp that is printed with information unique to each place: the state’s capital, nickname, and year that it entered the union. California, for example, comes in the state’s signature outline on a map and features a stamp that says “The Golden State,” while Texas says “The Lone Star State.”

Each table is hand-sanded and finished with a contrasting stain along the edge, adding to its warmth. The legs, on the other hand, are made from sturdy and stylish metal iron material, ensuring a solid stand. At $250 each, the price is reasonable for such a customized statement piece. “A state is more than just lines on a map,” the description reads. “It’s home.”

Light home assembly is also required, according to the product listing. Still, the reviews are predominantly growing. One reviewer wrote that the table is “nicely made and attractive” and “a real conversation piece,” while another remarked that it has “high quality construction.” Another user lamented that they “might need all 50” tables considering how “clever” and perfectly-sized they are.

The state-shaped table could also make a great gift for transplants who find themselves feeling homesick as they’re dispersed in different parts of the state, wishing they were elsewhere. But, let’s face it, the tables are even more ideal for treating oneself to the ultimate personalized piece of home decor.
